Treatment for Staph Infection

Recently, a family friend contracted a Staph infection. For those of you who don’t know, Staph is a common bacteria that has developed over time so that some forms are resistant to antibiotics. While mostly harmless, Staph can be deadly to elderly or sick people.

If you or someone you know has or could possibly have a staph infection, first go to doctor. How do you prevent the spread of Staph? CleaningProductsWorld.com has a few products that are powerful enough to kill/prevent Staph germs, but are still safe to us in your home or office. The best bet is Lysol Disinfectant Spray. Lysol is proven to kill Staph, along with other bacteria like Flu, Salmonella, and E.Coli.  Make sure to spray the Lysol on every surface though, some people make the mistake of just misting Lysol, when you really need to actively spray every area.

If you feel you are at an added risk of Staph, for example if you have a weak immune system, Clorox Pro Quaternary All-Purpose Disinfectant Cleaner is hospital grade and can be used on a variety of surfaces. It is even more effective because you can apply it to every surface of your house.

Good luck and stay healthy!

Environmental Groups Sue Proctor & Gamble, Etc

Article from the LA Times on February 18th:

“The makers of Tide, Ajax and other common household cleansers are being asked to come clean about their ingredients.

Environmental and health activists announced plans Tuesday for a lawsuit to make Procter & Gamble Co., Colgate-Palmolive Co. and two other major firms reveal the chemical ingredients of their cleaning products and their research on the products’ effects. The suit, to be filed today in New York, seeks to use a little-known 1976 New York law passed to combat phosphates in detergent.

The activists “say people deserve to know whether the products they use to wash their dishes and clean their homes could be harmful,” said New York lawyer Keri Powell, an attorney for Earthjustice, a nonprofit public interest law firm.

Responding to the lawsuit, the Soap and Detergent Assn. expressed disappointment that activist groups were “using an arcane New York state regulation as a way to disparage cleaning product formulators whose products are used safely and effectively by millions of people every day.”

The industry plans a major push next year to make more information available about ingredients, said Michelle Radecki, general counsel of the Washington-based group. It represents 110 cleaning product manufacturers that together make more than 90% of U.S. cleaning products. ”The cleaning product industry is committed to providing more information than ever before on cleaning product ingredients,” she said.”

What do you think about the lawsuit? Is it necessary to provide extensive ingredient information on the everyday products we use? It could force companies to be more compliant with safety and environmental regulations….Comment below and let us know what you think!

Are Simple Green Products Really “Green”?

Simple Green has been called the “original green cleaner.” But is it?

To determine what is “green” or not, first we need a definition of “green.” So what is the definition? At CleaningProductsWorld.com, we believe a cleaning product is “green” as long it is proven to be better for the environment than they majority of average products in it’s class. Common ways to achieve this is using post-consumer waste, being non-toxic or biodegradable, and offsetting energy emissions.

Now getting back to Simple Green Products- the bottom line is that Simple Green has met OSHA’s standards for non-toxicity and OECD’s requirements for biodegradability. Proof? The US government uses Simple Green in cases of oil spills because it has no reverse effects on animals or wildlife. On top of that, Simple Green supports many environmental initiatives, from the Catalina Island Conservancy to it’s very own EGBAR (Everything’s Gonna Be All Right) Foundation, which supports school children learning about social responsibility.

The most common argument against Simple Green is the usage of EGBE, a chemical that some claim can be harmful. However, there have been many studies on this ingredient and still the EPA does not list it as a known toxin. Additionally, EGBE makes up less than 4% of Simple Green. One way to think of Simple Green’s usage of EGBE is to compare it to salt- a sprinkle of salt on your food will make your meal taste better, but large quantity won’t be so great for you. Same goes for EGBE. Don’t go out and drink a gallon of it, but in very small, watered down doses, there is no harm.

To sum it all up, here at CleaningProductsWorld.com, we stand behind Simple Green’s claim of being “green” and so does the US government.  If that is not enough for you, you better stick to cleaning with vinegar (but don’t invite us over because we can’t stand the smell!).

Protect your Car Interior with Armor All

Armor All

When times are tough, buying a new car is not a priority. But you can keep your car looking it’s best by avoiding accidents, regular washing to keep salt off your car, and keeping your interior clean and fresh. At CleaningProductsWorld.com we we recommend Armor All on your interior.

Armor All is safe for use on vinyl, rubber and plastic car surfaces. All you have to do is spray Armor All onto a clean cloth, and use it to wipe down your dash. It will remove dirt and dust, and also protect your dash from fading due to the sun’s rays. It also moisturizes surfaces to prevent cracking. Be careful not to get it on any glass surfaces though because it can discolor glass. It like an interior car wash!

As an added plus, Armor All can be used inside your home on vinyl rubber and plastic surfaces- just always test it in an inconspicuous spot to make sure!

TwoDaLoo- A Two Person Toilet

two seat toilet 300x300 TwoDaLoo A Two Person Toilet“TwoDaLoo – A Supertoilet That Saves Rocky Marriages and The Planet”

I stumbled across this new invention and had to share it with our readers. WiseRep.com bills this “as the world’s first toilet two people can use … at the exact same time. It brings couples closer together and conserves our water supply all with one flush. The TwoDaLoo features two side-by-side toilet seats with a modest privacy wall in between. An upgraded version includes a seven inch LCD television and iPod docking station.”

While we do like hearing about any opportunity that will enable us to sell double the toilet paper, for some reason we don’t think this will be a hit. Any takers?

The Truth About Clorox Green Works

Clorox Green WorksRecently, cleaning products giant Clorox introduced a “natural” product line called Clorox Green Works. This line of products is Clorox’s foray into the environmentally friendly craze that is sweeping our world. Other green cleaners like Seventh Generation and Method are sold at some grocery and department stores, but Clorox aims to make environmentally friendly cleaners available all over the country with it’s new Green Works line.

Some die hard naturalists have rejected Clorox Green Works products, saying that they are not totally natural. They argue that Clorox as a company is still very detrimental to the environment, with the majority of their products being made with petroleum derived and non- biodegradable ingredients. However, a quick glance at the Green Works label shows that 99% of the ingredients are naturally derived. Green purists have also argued that while the Green Works ingredients are natural, they way they are obtained and used contributes to rainforest habitat destruction. However, even TreeHugger.com says that while Clorox Green Works products might not be perfectly ec0-friendly, they are still much better than a conventional alternative.

Clorox Green Works products include an All Purpose Cleaner, Dishwashing Liquid, Bathroom Cleaner, and Glass Cleaner, all available for great prices at CleaningProductsWorld.com!
