I had always been wary of using brand name cleaning product innovations. But keeping my kitchen floor clean was a daunting task that I dreaded. I would put off cleaning it until it took several buckets of hot soapy water and heavy duty scrubbing on my hands and knees.
I considered some of the new microfiber mop pads, but my apartment doesn’t have laundry in the building, so I figured it would be more hassle to maintain them.
After much consideration, I decided to get a Swiffer Sweeper. Yes, I hated the commercials, and felt guilty about buying a brand name. But, I just wanted to have a cleaning method that I wouldn’t resent or ignore. I decided to go with the Swiffer wet cloths, because the dry sweeper cloths seemed like a lazy person’s disposable broom. I still had some integrity left.
When I brought the Swiffer sweeper home, I marveled at the quick assembly of the handle, that easily snapped together.
I had swept my floor of debris, but that dingy brown dirt still remained on my white vinyl floor. The Swiffer sweeper helped get rid of the dirt without the exertion I had previously put into floor cleaning. I am able to simply sweep and run the Swiffer over the floor, using the scrubby strip to get stains.
No more buckets of water and scrubbing on my hands and knees! I am glad that I no longer resent cleaning my kitchen floor. I have even started using it on the bathroom tile floor!
