5 Tips for A Stress-free Thanksgiving Holiday

Thanksgiving is almost here! You might be having a ton of family over, or simply need to cook for your significant other. Here are some last minute items to remember for a flawless Thanksgiving, without the stress!

Dish soap – for cleaning up all the dirty dishes and pots and pans. Some roasting pans won’t fit in the dishwasher.

Oven cleaner – for getting the oven clean before you roast that delicious turkey. Don’t let the old bits of casseroles and mysterious miscellaneous baked-on food ruin the flavor of your meal.

Aluminum foil – for baking, wrapping, storing, and more! Can never have too much of this.  Send guests home with aluminum foil packets of leftovers. Can freeze for additional convenience!

Toilet Paper – in case you have guests, don’t forget to stock up! Always leave out an extra roll so they aren’t desperately searching in their time of need.

Disposable dinnerware – use single use plates and bowls to cut down on cleaning. A great way to serve a crowd if you don’t have 20 matching plates!

Laundry Tips: When to wash winter outerwear

hatscarfmittens 300x213 Laundry Tips: When to wash winter outerwearKnowing when to wash outerwear and winter gear can sometimes be confusing. Here is a quick guide to keep your winter clothing looking great.

  1. Sweatshirts can be washed every six or seven wears (by machine). Be sure to use a quality laundry detergent that is compatible with your washing machine. Hypoallergenic laundry detergent is also available for sensitive skin users.
  2. Hats, gloves, scarves can be washed every 3-5 weeks (by hand).
  3. Washing sweaters depends on the material. Cotton, silk and cashmere sweaters can be washed every 3 wears (by hand). Wool and polyester blends are more durable, so wash them every 5 wears.

Make sure to follow garment’s label care instruction as some fabrics require delicate hand washing techniques, and one time through the washer or dryer will forever change the appearance or size of the garment!

Cold Season Means Pass the Kleenex

kleenex 275x300 Cold Season Means Pass the KleenexIt’s cold season.

How do I know? There’s a growing pile of Kleenex in my trash can and every drug store I go into has signs screaming that they have flu shots available.

My boyfriend has spoiled me by buying Kleenex with lotion. The non-lotiony tissues at work that used to feel soft on my nose now feel like sandpaper. Especially when you’re using half a box daily, getting the more expensive facial tissues is worth it if you don’t want to look like Rudolph.

Tips for Cold and Flu Season

  1. If you’re sick, make sure to stock up on Kleenex to prevent spreading your germs! Make sure to throw them away immediately after use.
  2. Wash your hands using soap, for at least 20 seconds.
  3. Use hand sanitizer to kill germs.

Hope that you all stay healthy and conquer those colds!
