Laundromat Woes: No Coin-Op Hypoallergenic Laundry Detergent??
So, since moving to the new house, I’ve been going to the laundromat since we don’t have a washer and dryer.
I arrived at the laundromat and was faced with the awful realization that I had forgotten my scent free hypoallergenic laundry detergent. Instead of driving the half of a mile home, I decided I would just use the coin-op vending machine laundry detergent.
I was a little disappointed with the selection, the only laundry detergent was Gain. I used Gain on all my clothes and blankets. I did notice that they smelled amazing! Normally I use an unscented laundry detergent for my sensitive skin, but Gain was okay in a pinch. I will not be using it again though, because I have noticed a slightly higher itch factor to my clothes. No major allergic reactions, but it’s not fun to be scratching all the time! Now I know why I switched to a hypoallergenic detergent in the beginning!!
I hope laundromats will consider stocking a coin-op detergent for those with sensitive skin. Maybe Seventh Generation would consider making one available?
